Ridgeway college is an independent, multi-cultural, co-educational secondary school, situated in Louis Trichardt, at the foot of the Soutpansberg Mountains in Limpopo Province. It lies within the Vhembe Biosphere Reserve recently proclaimed by UNESCO, an area of scenic beauty and wide and exciting bio-diversity.
The College was founded in 1999 to provide a quality, affordable, independent, English-medium educational opportunity in Louis Trichardt. The first few years were spent in a house in the town and the College moved to its present, purpose-built campus in 2002.
The infrastructure has been steadily developed since 2002 to include laboratories, additional classrooms, a library and sporting facilities. The buildings are simple and functional in keeping with the College’s commitment to conservation of the environment.
The college has boarding facilities which are constantly expanding.
We follow the Cambridge syllabus and our students write the IGCSE and AS examinations in Grade 10 and 12 respectively. There are two classes per grade, except in Grase 12. Classes are kept to a maximum of 27.
Admission is dependent on the student’s ability and background as assessed in a series of tests.
Ridgeway students have an excellent record of success in obtaining admission to the Universities of their choice and coming away with very good degrees.
